Gender and Maternal Health in the Global Health Agenda

In the eighth event of the series, we will hear from Commissioner Simone Diniz, Professor of the Department of Health and Life Cycles, and deputy director, of the School of Public Health, University of São Paulo. “In a dialogue with previous seminars, I want to share some challenges regarding gender and maternal health, particularly: gender, medicalization, and “too little, too late” and “too much, too soon” maternal care; intersectionality, reproductive justice and abusive care; obstetric violence and the international movement for respectful care; gender and new insights of the biology of childbearing; decolonizing maternal and reproductive care, and the movement to support midwifery.”
